Vent retrofit

Wind carries embers through open vents into the attic and crawlspace, where they land on dust and framing. We match a part to every opening, count them, and show which ones still need a measurement before anything ships.

Doing the whole house? Build a whole-house kit. Have an inspection report? Send it. Know your sizes? Shop vents by size.

How this homeowner finishes

  • Send the gable size. The plan shows where to measure.
  • Buy the kit. The vents in one shipment, each part labeled with its opening.
  • Install it, or ask for a quote. Do it yourself, or request an install quote where a licensed installer covers the ZIP code.
  • Keep the record. Models, receipts, dates, and before and after photos, by opening. See the example record

How we measure a vent

The opening, not the old vent’s face. Your plan asks for width and height for each kind of vent, and a count. If a vent is metal and in good shape, we may match mesh to go behind it instead of a new vent.

A dryer vent always gets a flap hood, never mesh. Lint would clog a screen.
