Find programs where you live

Grants, rebates, insurance rules, and tax breaks by state and county, with the official source for each. A program existing in your county isn’t the same as your house qualifying, so each one says where you stand:

  • Apply before buyingApproval or an assessment comes before you buy.
  • Confirm your property’s eligibilityYour address has to be inside its boundary, or meet its tests.
  • Ready to proceedNothing to apply for first. Keep the receipts and photos.

Paperwork for your insurer and programs

Your plan prepares the documents insurers, programs, and buyers usually ask for, from the work you actually did. Each prints cleanly or saves as a PDF.

How the paperwork works
  • Mitigation recordFor your insurer, an evaluator, or a buyer. Each finished project with the part, the order, the date it was done, and before and after photos.
  • Request for a mitigation reviewFor your insurer. A letter asking your insurer to review your rate for the work you did, naming the state rule, with your record attached.
  • Grant or rebate packetFor the program. Itemized costs, dates, and before and after photos for the work the program pays for, with its checklist.
  • Cost record for taxesFor you or your tax preparer. Dated costs for qualifying work, with order numbers, totals, and the rule they fall under.
  • Seller disclosure worksheetFor you and your real estate agent. The features the state disclosure asks about, what your plan shows for each, and what you fixed.
  • Certification checklistFor you, before the evaluator visits. The certification items your plan covers, where each stands, and the photos to take.

The project record

When the work is done you keep one record for the whole house: the dates, the installed models, the receipts, and before and after photos, each keyed to the opening it belongs to. It’s what insurers and programs usually ask for.

See the example record

  • Installed modelsManufacturer, model, and test documents for each part.
  • ReceiptsThe order, what shipped, and when it arrived.
  • Before and afterPhotos for every opening, location data removed.
